Gift Box Product Description for The Traveling Shepherd Coffee Company

The Traveling Shepherd is a local coffee company that provides a curated selection of fresh, high-quality specialty coffees from more than 25 countries, roasted locally with care. It specializes in offering positive, personal experiences to customers in addition to delicious and unique coffees.
Challenge
The client wanted to increase his online sales and keep his brand top of mind for customers during the Christmas season. This was challenging, given his primarily in-person presence at local farmers’ markets and special events.
Solution
I created compelling copy for a product description of the client’s holiday gift box so that he could feature it in his email marketing during the holiday season. Adding this copy to the website enhanced the user experience, helping to create a seamless journey from the client’s marketing email to the e-shop, and from the e-shop to the specific product.
The copy leads with the main benefit for the consumer— to “surprise and delight” friends, family or clients. Describing the gift box as “exclusive” emphasized the unique nature of its contents— high-quality, specialty coffees from around the world roasted locally with care.
The copy also invites customers to “share a world coffee tour” by purchasing the gift box. I knew this language would appeal to the fun, adventurous side of the client’s target audience. With this invitation, customers wouldn’t simply be buying coffee. They would be purchasing a joyful Christmas adventure they could share with friends and loved ones.
Sensory language describing the coffee’s origins like “from the lush valleys of Bolivia to the volcanic soils of Kenya” helped pique customers’ curiosity and further welcome them into a rich, holiday experience.
Copy emphasizing options for personalization, free delivery, and the order deadline all made a persuasive case to add the gift box to customers’ carts.
